TUMOUR - RHABDOMYOSARCOMA

 TUMOUR - RHABDOMYOSARCOMA

Clinical History

A woman presents having noticed a lump in the thigh of her 6 month old daughter.

Pathology

The specimen is a large rounded mass of pale, whitish tumour tissue, fairly well demarcated from the surrounding striated muscle except in the lower part of the specimen where infiltration can be seen. The tumour mass shows some necrosis and haemorrhage centrally. Histologically this was diagnosed as a Rhabdomyosarcoma.
