Clinical History

This specimen was removed surgically from a man of 55 who suffered from thromboangiitis obliterans.

Pathology

The toes of the left foot show blackened atrophic skin with a sharp line of demarcation. In other areas ulceration is present. This is an example of gangrene of the toes.
