CARCINOMA OF THE UTERUS

Clinical History

A 67 year old female presented with post menopausal bleeding.

Pathology

The specimen is of uterus showing the cervix and fundus together with attached tubes and ovaries. The uterus has been cut open to show the lumen completely filled and the whole uterus distended by a large very necrotic tumour, the surface of which resembles a cauliflower. Microscopic examination showed a poorly differentiated endometrial adenocarcinoma with areas of necrosis.
