ENDOMETRIAL POLYP

Clinical History

This specimen was removed at laparotomy from a woman of 60.

Pathology

This specimen consists of uterus, tubes and ovaries. The uterus has been opened anteriorly to display a large polypoid tumour arising from the fundus on the right. The polyp, which has a short stalk and central fibrous core, shows several small cysts on the pale cut surface. Histologically this is a benign endometrial polyp.
