ADRENAL CORTICAL ADENOMA

ADRENAL CORTICAL ADENOMA

Clinical History

This tumour was discovered incidentally at necropsy in a man of 77 years who died of bronchopneumonia and uraemia.

Pathology

The adrenal gland has been sliced to display a circumscribed tumour (seen below). Both adrenal cortex and tumour have a similar mottled yellow appearance. Histology revealed the tumour to be a cortical adenoma.
